Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools in England. Achieving Artsmark Gold recognises our commitment to providing high-quality arts and cultural experiences that inspire creativity, build confidence and enrich learning across the curriculum. We have held this since 2012.

Change4Life is a national health programme that encourages children and families to make healthier choices through regular physical activity and balanced eating habits. Achieving this recognition shows our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and helping children develop positive habits that support their wellbeing both now and in the future.

Eco-Schools is an internationally recognised award that celebrates environmental awareness and action within schools. It recognises our work in empowering pupils to make a positive difference to the environment through sustainability projects, conservation initiatives and learning about global responsibility.

The Food for Life Award recognises schools that provide healthy, sustainable food and high-quality food education. Achieving Silver status demonstrates our commitment to nutritious school meals, developing children's understanding of where food comes from, and encouraging lifelong healthy eating habits.

The School Games Mark is awarded to schools for their commitment to physical education, school sport and competition. Gold status recognises our extensive sporting opportunities, high levels of participation and dedication to developing healthy, active lifestyles for all pupils.

What is London Schools Gold Club

The Mayor’s London Schools Gold Club was an annual scheme which celebrated and shared exceptional practice in London’s primary and secondary schools.

Gold Club members are schools that have succeeded against the odds in improving pupils’ aspirations and achievements. Barnes Primary School is one of only a handful of schools in London that was asked to be a member of this scheme for three consecutive years (2013, 2014 and 2015). The criteria for being chosen related to the academic performance of pupils from less advantaged backgrounds. As a member, when this scheme was running, we were committed to sharing effective practice with other schools.

The Gold Quality Mark recognises excellence in educational provision and continuous school improvement. It acknowledges the high standards, innovation and commitment to providing the very best learning experiences for all pupils.

The Healthy Schools London Awards recognise schools that place health and wellbeing at the heart of school life. These awards demonstrate our commitment to supporting children's physical health, emotional wellbeing, personal development and readiness to learn.

The Inclusion Quality Mark recognises schools that provide high-quality inclusive education for all learners. It reflects our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of need or background, is supported, valued and enabled to thrive.

The London Youth Games Gold Club celebrates schools and organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to youth sport and physical activity. The award reflects our dedication to encouraging participation, teamwork, resilience and achievement through sport.

Maths Hubs bring together schools to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics. Being part of the London South West Maths Hub reflects our commitment to developing excellent mathematical teaching, sharing best practice and ensuring strong outcomes for all learners.

Ofsted is the independent body responsible for inspecting schools in England. An Outstanding judgement is the highest possible rating and recognises exceptional standards in teaching, learning, leadership, safeguarding and pupil outcomes. It reflects the dedication of our staff, pupils and wider school community.

The Primary Science Quality Mark celebrates excellence in science teaching and learning. Achieving this award demonstrates our commitment to inspiring curiosity, developing scientific thinking and providing engaging, high-quality science experiences for all pupils.

The UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award recognises schools that place children's rights at the centre of their ethos and practice. It supports pupils in understanding their rights, respecting the rights of others and becoming active, responsible members of society.

The STARS Award recognises excellence in promoting safe, active and sustainable travel. Holding Gold status reflects our success in encouraging pupils and families to walk, cycle and travel safely to school, helping to improve health, wellbeing and the environment.

Inclusion in The Sunday Times Schools Guide recognises schools that demonstrate high standards and strong educational outcomes. It highlights our reputation for excellence and our commitment to providing an outstanding education for every child.

The Wellbeing Award for Schools recognises schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of pupils, staff and the wider community. It highlights our proactive approach to creating a happy, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
