Pupil Progress Meetings

Pupil progress meetings take place after the half term break.

We do this because children take their books home over the holiday so that they can share them with their families and talk about:

• what they have been learning
• what they are proud of
• what they need to do next

Children will already have written targets in their books, and there is also space for parents to add comments. Looking carefully at your child’s books before the meeting helps to make the discussion more informed and useful.

In the Autumn term, pupil progress meetings are 10 minutes long and take place after the October half term.

For children in EYFS, this meeting takes place after baseline assessments.

Children in Year 2 to Year 6 will have taken books home to share over the half term holiday. Year 1 children will not usually have started writing in books at this stage.

In the Spring term, pupil progress meetings are 15 minutes long and take place after the February half term.

Children in Year 1 to Year 6 will have taken books home to share over the half term holiday.

Appointments are offered on a first come, first served basis.

If you do not have access to a computer, please contact the KS1 Office, who will be able to book an appointment on your behalf.

Before your appointment, it is helpful to:

• look through your child’s books together
• read the targets in their books
• add any comments you would like to share with the teacher

This helps to ensure that the meeting is focused, informed and useful for both home and school.
